At AIFS University Prep you’ll have the unique opportunity to live on campus at Amherst—sleeping in the dorm, eating in the dining hall, and studying in the classrooms. You and your new friends from the next state (or from a distant country) will experience the life of a college student before you actually get there!
You will live in a dormitory group of approximately 10-14 same age and gender students under the direct supervision of a counselor. Not only will the counselors assist you with all aspects of residential life, they will answer your college admissions questions and give advice based on their own recent college entrance experience.
The curriculum consists of three intensive preparation courses per day, four days per week. Each course runs for 90 minutes.
Two days per week are spent visiting college and university campuses in the Northeast followed up by recreational activities.
Every college student knows Sunday is for laundry, fun campus activities and much needed R&R–AIFS University Prep is no different. Enjoy the campus, take a walk into the nearby and quaint town of Amherst, or relax with friends.
AIFS University Prep is supported by a multi-tiered staffing structure to ensure the program runs smoothly and the students are supervised at all times. The program is led by a Director, Academic Dean and Residential Activities Dean. Students are supervised by Residential Assistants and Counselors while on campus grounds and during all college visits, off campus excursions and in the case of medical treatment at a local doctor or hospital.
